The Princess stated she has been undergoing chemotherapy to fight her cancer diagnosis. I am wishing Kate Middleton well and a speed recovery. Earlier this year, I stopped attending to a local evangelical church I was a part of for a year. I stopped going because I felt so much strain on my relationship with God, my identity, and who I thought I was. I wrestle a lot with the idea of if I was no longer apart of the church, then I would no longer be apart of the Kingdom. If I was no longer apart of the Kingdom, then I would no longer have salvation. If I was no longer "saved," then I was deemed to Hell. That's a scary thought! How can one church hold that much weight over me and my life?
It took some time. It took me to pray, read my Bible, cry, talk to other like-minded Christians to believe this statement. There is no such thing as "one-true church!" The church plays an important role for Kingdom. It connects people to the Father in a way you couldn't do in the world. The church matters because people matter. People matter to God so much he created a community where brothers and sisters can connect, worship, and rejoice ...
What are you sick of? Is there aything going on in today's society that you would not mind if it goes away tomorrow?
Personally, I am sick of the Black Lives Matter movement. I cannot stand how so many people continue to lend support to a very corrupt organization. As a black woman, I care about black lives. I want people who have been disenfranchised historically and systematically to seize every advantage to thrive. However, the Black Lives Matter has used every possible tragedy that has happened in black America and monetized on them.
So, I would not mind if they go away tomrrow!
It has been awhile. A lot has happened in my personal life. Lately, I have been overcoming with emotions. I felt that I was abandoning this platform. And, that could not be further from the truth. I started "This is Her America" because I wanted to created a space for women (and men) who are proud American unapologetically. We all come from different walks of life, but that does not mean we all can come to the table and be seen and respected.
By going forward, I want to do things differently with this platform. I want everyone to come to this space and know their thoughts can be heard. I am intrigued about what is about to come. Thanks!
